This Hackberry "propeller bow" will be given to the Boy Scouts of America this January for use in a silent auction to help raise funds for scouts. The bow measures 56 " end to end and the main limbs are 2" wide. The handle is 1" thick and wide. The bow pulls 35# at 28". A little stout for some scouts but they can grow into it. I really hope some eager kid gets this bow! I had never worked with Hackberry before and found the bark removal a SNAP compared to other trees. The wood worked like Hickory and had a wonderful yellow hue. So why paint it? Why not! I had never done that to a bow and wanted to see how I would be able to pull it off. I was pleased with how it turned out and it kicks out arrows just fine.

A fine looking bow, and nice craftmanship. Love the color/paimt design. Shot in as the lucky winner grows into it. Hard to think of anything better. ;)
