Well, my birthday was this past Saturday and at breakfast my wife and kids all brought in some gifts for me to open. My wife got me this 1851 navy C&B revolver!
I used to have one in high school/college but it somehow got lost between Wyoming and Missouri in the move some 12 years ago. I have been wanting another so bad and here it is.
I plan on hunting with it as our black powder season opens on the 18th of Dec.

Very nice. .40 or .44?

Nice, Mark. Looks like you have a great wife and kids. Good luck on the hunt.

Pat, it's a .44.
I haven't shot it yet so I'm not sure if I'll be using .451 or .457 rbls. I would to try some conicals but I don't even know where to start as far as weight and diameter. Any of you guys who shoot these have any suggestions for a good whitetail load?
