Title: Questions about building a holmegaard bow

wanting to build a holmegaard bow,was thinking of starting with a red oak or maple board would this be ok?then once i get the process down i would like to build a replicla out of elm,should i back the red oak bow or maple bow?prob go 64" to 66" 50lb. @ 28 range,any experiences you've had building one of these would be great,any specs would be great thanks muleman

I did a build along a while back, check it out by doing a search in that forum.  ;D
