I shoot her at 100 yrds with my .308 browning a-bolt I would have rather harvested her the primitive way , but I need to feed my little ones and after shooting 6 arrows at 5 deer I needed to use my not so primitive backup.. Micah

gotta do what ya gotta do when ya need to feed the family. No offense taken.
-
yep, I had to put the bow away when gun season came in to put some meat in the freezer for the winter.
killed a decent sized spike buck opening morning with the shotgun.
no offense here either. gotta do what you gotta do, like Nugget said!
-
I'm just ticked I haven't been able to do the same thing yet. Good job, that one will eat good for sure!
-
I'm offended! >:( You got a deer and I ain't got one yet...but I am taking my Savage 99, .308 to GA this weekend and hopefully I won't be offended anymore after that. ;D
ps. I will have my primitive stuff too, just in case! ;D

No Offense here at all. Congrats on bringing home the bacon..er...venison. :)
-
My hunting time is limited this year, I'm doing the same thing.
Pat, I'll be at Chris' this weekend. Leaving here tomorrow night. Good luck.

This is actualy the 5th deer to be put in the frezer:I shot one earlyer,a friend killed on with a bow and one with a riffle, some guy stoped at the church and droped one off, and this one. All of them I took the time to collect the sinew from :o ;D ;)so I guess that will make up for shooting them with a gun ::)My dad bought a meat grinder and left it at my house and I put about 25 # into hamberger so that is good. Hopfully we won't run out of meat this time :)
-
I ain't offended either. How can good meat to feed the family be anything but good. Happy Thanksgiving ! ' Frank
-
If I had a good meat grinder I'd grind everything but the back straps. ;D
Eddie, we will be less than an hour from each other. I'll be just outside of Stevens GA. Good hunting this weekend. Second rut should be starting, a cold front passing and cold clear days to follow. However, the full moon just past too.

No offence here, Nice deer :)

When it comes right down to it, meat in the pot, is meat in the pot. Kinda like the bird in hand is better than three in the bush.
-
I'm offended by my own states regulations which will not let me switch weapons. if you get an archery deer tag you may only use a bow for that year. my late season starts tomorrow, but it's wind and rain season here in WA...
-
thats not cool. we can do archery, gun, black powder, we get to hunt for almost four months.
-
When the deer meat stock gets low at the Krewson household I hunt more with my flintlock than my selfbow, can't live without my deer meat.
For 20 years I gave my sister-in-law a processed deer for Christmas. If Christmas was fast approaching and I didn't have her a deer, my Remington 700 in .308 came out of the closet. My sister-in-law's grandkids have grown up to be deer killing machines so I was able to abandon this yearly tradition. I started the practice when she worked in a sewing sweat shop and a deer to eat was a luxury.

Well, I'm even more ticked now that I blew what should have been a chip-shot on a doe with a .270 this evening. I'm hoping I hit one of the limbs I was shooting through and I don't just suck that bad, but I've got no way to verify that.
-
Looks like some good eatin'. I haven't killed one with a bow this year yet, either (missed two) but I've put a couple in the freezer with the black powder burner.
-
Now had you shot this deer off a corn pile, without a license, took just the horns and left the meat to rot...then you would be the one offended. The offense woulda been one of my arrows in yer keister, but you are just fine far as I can see.
-
Well Micah, I haven't got one yet at all this year. Bow or rifle. Still some weeks left of bow season an also the smoke pole so I hope I will get some in the freezer by Jan.
