Are they Reeves and Silver pheasant feathers?
-
And if they are not native species to the United States, there is no issue with buying/selling/using them! Unless they are listed anywhere as endangered or threatened on the CITES list (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Animals).

I wish in some ways this was like FB so I could just "like" your comment LOL. You said exactly what I did on the other thread ;D

Kind of why I was asking what kind of pheasant. If they are Reeves and Silver, they are legal to use. There are however several kinds of pheasant that are illegal to have in the US without a federal permit. I prefer to stick with feathers that I know for sure are legal. I also prefer the ones that the Fish and Game department will know is legal so they don't bother me. ;)

Yes, that is the bird that the last couple of photos belong to, but I was referring to the first two pictures. The first ones have a browner tone and resemble Reeves pheasant wing feathers. The second looks like they are probably Silver pheasant. I am quite sure they aren't the few species that are protected in the USA, but without knowing what variety of pheasant I wouldn't suggest you try shipping them to the USA.

those sure are some pretty birds. :)

Phasianus colchicus.
South Dakota State Bird....only state in the Union that shotguns it's state symbol! a.k.a. stubble duck, ditch duck, technicolor grouse, South Dakota Grasshopper Control Board, or common ring-necked pheasant.

Josh, the Reeves is my favorite, it's tail gets to over 5 feet long. I have raised Lady Amherst, Red Golden, Yellow Golden, Silver, common and jumbo Ringneck, Impian, Blue Eared, and Peacock pheasant. Here is a picture of a Peacock Pheasant.

Hey ! Where can I get some of those Argus Pheasant eggs ? I have a banty hen that I think could hatch and raise the chicks maybe. She thinks that is all there is in life, is raising chicks. She went broody again the other day and its really winter here. She's nuts, but a good hen. ' Frank

That is just what banty hens do isn't. These pheasant arent something you just pick up at the farm. They only lay between 2 and 5 eggs per year and are listed vulnerable or threatened. A lot do not do well in cold climates either.

The guy who made the arrow got the feather from a private owner after he had talked his ear bloody, as far as I know... 8) 8) 8)
The arrow was at sale for some serious money.
Other pheasants have beautiful feathers, too...

The only thing I know about snowcock is that you can hunt them in Nevada.
