many people know horn tips can used for uk long bow tips oo bow tips, but many people don't know how the hor tips change to horn ring
-
forget to add some photos of process
lose photo:you should drill 1 rough size hole first(depend on yourthrumb diameter(not round,Oval)
and then use FILES to smooth the oval horn hole size proper to your thrumb.you can use any horn or bone even stone or wood or bamboo to make your ring for mogolian shoot trainning .but i think best material is vaired horn, rest material or very hard or easy to broken etc

Cheers, excellent photos.
There seems to be a lot of interest in Horsebows (and therefore thumb rings) in the UK.

Thanks for posting thost photos, helps me understand how they are made.
The "tail" of the thumbring then lies along the pad of the thumb, right? I might have to try this with the Kassai horsebow I have been shooting three finger style. Be interesting to see how long it takes before I can hit a barn from the inside!!! Plenty of re-learning there. Maybe I'll shoot left handed with thumbring and righty with other bows,, just to keep them straight.

did someone say thumbring or horse bow, or a Kassai bow?
