Ok, been having some trouble getting this posted, hopefully this time it works. New Ash selfbow, 66" 52#@28". Black Walnut/Red Chestnut mix stain. Bloodwood pistol grip with cocobolo tip overlays. Painted the tips black so you cant really see the cocobolo but it was just plain, some scrap I had laying around. Let me know what you guys think.

Nice bow....good lookin, good weight.....take that baby out to the deer woods :D

Looks good, I'm with Half eye, let it assassinate something.

Thanks guys. I know what you're saying Pappy, I like it alot. I was thinking of just leaving it without staining after I toasted the belly.
I got a question for everyone. The bow is taking on some set and I'm wondering if there is anyway to counter act that? Maybe just heating up the limbs and clamping it to a flat board?

Nice work. Like others said go assassinate something.
Generally once set happens the damage is done. Clamping the bow in reflex and heat treating the belly might help some but making another bow is a better option. IMO ;D

Thanks guys. I plan on getting it out this weekend. Have been putting about 50 arrows or so a night through it this week, plan to keep on that and get it out on Friday & Saturday.

Nice ash self bow! Grip looks cool, never seen one done quite like that before. Got it bookmarked for October Self BOM contest too! :)
