forgot to add: I used a sinew backed juniper bow in the holmegard style 60#@28". syringa shoot shaft tipped with burns green obsidian. shot distance was about 15 yards from a tree stand, hit high in the ribcage, along the spine, severed artery and one llung. tip broke after breaiking rib and side of spine, penetrated about 8". found shards of obsidian while field dressing. one lung was completely collapsed and the artery had bled mostly internally. found the deer about 200 yards from where he was shot.

Congrats, and a very nice bow.

Congrats! Must feel good huh? Or at least much more satisfying than the same kill would have been with a compound bow ;) I hope to do the same next fall, but I just started shooting longbow, so I need some major practice!
