Post by: skyarrow on October 09, 2010, 11:51:12 pm
my friend Jeff's birthday is coming up so i decided to make him something. this is his shaving set i made/put together. what i made was the badger hair shaving brush and the brush/razor stand i hope he likes it :). i am planning to make some shaving brush knots soon the badger knot was from china since badgers are protected in the U.S.A and thats the hair i wanted for this brush the razor is a 1959  Fat Boy Gillette Adjustable Safety Razor and the mug i am not sure of but its a nice mug

Very cool set.  I'm sure he'll like it.  But about the badgers...there's still states that you can hunt them.  AZ being one of them...

I remember my Dad using his shaving brush, and soap mug, and razor, with Gillette Blue blades.  He gave me an old "safety" razor he had, and I would use his brush and lather, up and use my razor with no blade, and we would shave together.  I was about four or five at the time.  I remember we would sit up and watch the Friday night fights, on TV. He would have a Pabst, and give me a little glass, and we would drink our beer, and eat pretzels, and cheese, that a Family Friend brought down form Penn., every year. One of the commercials was with "Paul Parrot" advertising  Gillette Blue blades.  In fact I still have some of those blades, and an old brush.  Fond Memories. :)  Where do you get the Badger hair knots from?  I like that idea of the antler for the brush.  I would like to make one for myself.  Jeff should really like that.  Thanks for sharing.
