Just finished this Hornbeam up for my girlfriend. This was my first reflex deflex and my first time putting snake skins on. The stave started with natural deflex and I used dry heat to flip the tips. It is 65" long and finished out at 40#@28". It is about 35# at her draw...which I found to be a good weight for her. The tip overlays are Mahoghany over ebony. The backing is Western Diamond back Rattler. The 5" handle is wrapped in dyed buck skin and accented with the left over snakeskin. The string is B-50 with beaverballs. The shelf plate is also accented with snakeskin, but I also put a shelf and side plate on to protect the skins. The finish is ten coats of tru-oil. She sot the bow very well last night and was very gracious of her gift. I named the bow "Morso Da Amare" which means bitten by love in Italian. Thanks for lookin.......
