Here is a short (36 sec.) video of a swarm of hummingbirds at one of our feeders.

They swarm like that just prior to headin' south. It's probably all females and immature birds,as the mature males have already gone.Where are you located?Ours in east Texas are'nt swarming yet,as ours usually leave in october.  God Bless

Not really a suggestion, as they're too pretty to kill but the thought struck me while watching that vid that it'd certainly test your skill with an arrow to attempt to skewer one in mid-flight...

Probably impossible

Nice video though, never seen them like that before.  Thanks.

And I thought that the 8-10 that my dad had around the House was a Lot! We don't get them too often down here in the Desert...just see them for a couple days every year...they are too smart to stick around here and dry up and blow away......... ;D

Is that yellowjackets or bald faced hornets? We sometimes get yellowjackets building nest above ground but usually only is very wet weather.

Me and my daughter target shoot from the front of the porch.  Those things dart all around us while we are shooting.  My wife keeps telling me that I am going to hit one.

Thanks cool video.  I put up three feeders at my house in Montana, and they were swarming like that also.  They sure can suck up some sugar water.  I had to go back to the store, and get a five pound bag of sugar.  I am glad you got their little chirps in also.  There was one I named Harley.  You could hear him coming from the trees, about hundred and twenty feet away, or so.  He was a little bigger than the others, and the boss of the feeder.  He had real deep and loud hum to him.  I liked to sit on my porch, and watch the deer, and turkeys, and watch the humming birds, fuss around the feeders.  Oh, and there was a nice glass of coconut rum, and pineapple juice, with a splash of grenadine over crushed ice.  A very enjoyable time.  Didn't get much accomplished, but had a very enjoyable time. ;D
