I need some dove wings for flight arrows if anyone happens to go dove hunting. Happy to pay for them. Thanks Steve

Dang, wish I had known. I cleaned a few the other day. I'm more of a dove-shooter-atter, than a hunter but I did manage to knock down a few. I cleaned them at my parent's house, so I'll look around and see if the wings are still out there.

We have an over abundance of dove this year Steve. If I can just hit some Ill save you some feathers. ;)

Pretty much like anything else in the wild. If you prep it right and don't over-cook it then it's pretty good eatin'.

How many you need?I have 5 pr so far.And yes dove is excellent!Lil salt and pepper dust em with flour and mmmmmmmmm!!

I have some Grouse wing feathers if you'r interested
-
5 pairs would get me off to a good start.
Grouse feathers would also be good, quail and pigeon also.
The fletch I cut them to is only 1" long and 1/4" high so I can often do one arrow from one feather. Over the next several months I plan to try and finish up about 50 arrows. Just let me know what you need, thanks Steve

I have some feathers (chicken) plus I will be going out to do some bird hunting soon. I'll save some feathers for you if I get something and send them to you.

Hey, Steve
Could you post some pics of your flight arrows? Or, better yet, could you do a biuld along? Thanks!
-
Steve, I have some pigeon, dove and quail. Are you coming through on your way to the flight shoots? If so I could meet up with you and give you a bunch.

Justin, the shoots just ended a couple of weeks agao, I did not attend this year but plan on next year.
I don't have much to trade for feathers but would happily pay a little bit for some wings.

I would be happy to do a buildalong, I make them all by hand so they are all a bit different. Arrows have always been one of my weak links in flight shooting because I always wait till the last minute and rush making them. This year I want to make a stack of them, take them all out and shoot them before the match and see which ones fly the best. Not uncommon to see 100 yards difference in shots taken with different arrows. They play a huge part in success out there. I have actually seen arrows take off go straight up and then loop back toward the shooter LOL. I have a vidio where I told my son to fucus the camera on the shooters bow had, just by chance the arrow broke and went through the shooters hand and I got it close up all on film. These little skinny arrows can be dangerous if the grain runs off. Steve

I thought the shoot was always a little closer to the middle or end of September, it always interfered with our archery elk hunt. Do you want the whole wing?
I have a few arrows that Dewayne Smith gave me a few years back. Little tiny buggers for sure. His fletchings were a little larger than you describe though.

Justin, you may want to try those arrows out some day, I would hold on to them just in case. However if you see no need for them sure I would like them. Steve
