Title: my first arrowhead

this is my first arrowhead I made it out of glass from a tv

Looks good for a first point. Keep at it. Wish my first one looked that good.

 Well, you did a darn good job. One of my first points was from TV glass. You are on the way, now.

Lookin' good!   Make sure you keep that point to gauge your skill level as you improve.  Sometime in the future you will be amazed at how far you've come.  That's a lot better than my first.

Here is another one I  just finished. It took a whole tv screen to get these two. I am having a hard time thinning the 1/2 inch glass.

Ah ha! there it is. I was wondering when you were going to get that posted. Looks good. By the way I think I can get us some good Oregon obsidian to play with.

that aint so bad

only advise i can give is to get a steady supply of material
and practice practice pracrice
as they say,this is a hobby of tonnage  ;)
the more rock you beat on the more you will learn the better you will get

Ithink the mane thing I ned to do is slowdown. I keep breaking points while presher flaking. :'(

thats usualy a support problem
or being over center when you try and take a flake
atleast thats my issues,nice thing is i know what i do wrong
now i gotta convince my self to stop when i know i m doing wrong  :P

can anyone put some pictures of some good hunting points so I can see how long and wide they need to be?  I got 2 more tv screens and a cousin is sending me some obsidian from Oregon. Is there a certain type of point that is made from obsidian?

well there are alot of points that were made from obsidions
but the one people usualy think of first would be the Ishi style point(wintu)

I looked up the ishi I rally like this style of point . The narrow entry to the nock is going to be hard for me since I am using an antler to presher nap. Any good suggestions?
