You can't kill an elk with a stick!!! That's just foolish! No way a two blade is enough, you need a mechanical explosive heat seeking tip on a cultured diamond shaft with polypropaline moisure wicking vanes!
Awesome work, I am so happy for you. And I am happy for the elk, a good and humane kill was only fitting and proper. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic! Great hunt, I'm happy for you. I'm like JW, I get tired of hearing sticks and stones aren't enough.

thanks everyone! the feedback i've gotten since posting this is incredible! it makes it all that much more memorable. i still see my arrow sticking out of her shoulder every time i close my eyes.
i can't wait to upgrade my arrows to stone points! i just need to put in a couple hunnert hours of flintknapping first.......

Congratulations Rob, Primitive bow hunting for elk is the real deal. I am still trying for my first one. I am working away from home in north west Colorado and don't know the area but am out taking nature hikes with my bow any way. Man these desert elk are nothing like the high country hunting I am used to in s.w. Colorado. Enjoy all that good eating. Kenneth

Congratulations, that is a great achievement! I tried it with a glass recurve once and didn't do nearly as well as you. I couldn't get the guide to put me in position to shoot a cow. He was obsessed with going after a bull, but it was still fun. Excellent job and great shooting. Should be some really fine eating too.
