Excellent. Great tiller.

Awesome bow. Is this a bend in the handle bow? I see it says 3" fades.
-
Very nice bow!!!
-
Nice! cool rollercoaster on the bottom limb
-
Nice job. Beautiful tiller. From the side profile at full draw the handle seems pretty thin. How thin do your limbs to?
-
Is this fine weapon all heartwood or is there some sapwood on the back?

Looking at the photos again, whoever built your house was a fine brickmason as well. (you notice this stuff when your dad is a brickmason and that's all you hear whenever you pause around a brick structure long enough). The head joints are almost pefectly spaced on every course. ;D
Can't get enough of that bow!

Very fine job with that piece of locust. The tiller is perfect and from a somewhat character stave too boot. I'd say you won the battle with that stave and found a great bow in it.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments on the bow. ;)
Dave, I got some batteries for the flash light if you want to try this one out. ::)
Justin, I've had several comments on the brick of this house. Not only how well they look but the type. I've been told the type of brick comes from only one supplier locally here. The guy must have been a really good brickmason. Thanks for the nice comment on the house and bow!
CP, its all heartwood. Thanks!
Hrothgar/Bigcountry, that handle area is built to bend, that's why its thin. The limbs are a little over 1/2 in thickness but this wood is super dense for locust. I could have gotten bye with a more narrow limb width but would rather error on the side of width with Locust holding a flat belly. This design is what I call a cut-in bend through the handle. The cut-in part allows me to maintain the limb width needed and still reduce paradox for the arrow. Its the best of both bendy/ stiff handle designs IMO. Its also a challenge to pull off, the hardest design that I know to tiller, but when its s right seems to perform quite well ;D. The downside would be creating a stress point, center of the bow (handle area) making it the most likely to brake, also. I've got a Hickory having a bad hair day to prove it. ::) Those are 3'' fades. Thanks for the nice comment on the bow. ;)
Tbod, a little character adds the fun, right? Thanks.

gmc,
Thanks for the info. I encountered such a dilema back in the spring when I built my first Modoc flatbow. The handle had to be necessarily wide to compensate for the "thiness" of the design. I was really worried about paradox since the arrow was like 10 degrees off target. All that worry for naught. It has been the most accurate and consistant of any bow I've made.
Good hunting, you have a fine looking bow!
