This is the first bow that I have made.
It is linen backed maple witha red oak riser.
It pulls 40# @ 27" And is tillered out to 28".
The bow has taken about 2" set just after shooting, and has been shot about 500 times.
Any feedback about the tiller or bow is really helpful. Thanks.

I'd say it's a success! Your tiller looks great, especially it it's a first. Only thing that crossed my mind is if you've looked into how heat treating white wood bows can help with performance. 2" of set after shooting is fine though. Did you heat treat your bow?
-
Thanks!!! It's a smooth shooter. I didn't heat treat.... I have heard about heat treating about it but since I'm inexperienced with this stuff I wasn't sure how to treat it.
I might research it though

What a great first bow, brother. I got it bookmarked for August Self Bow of The Month Contest too. Go check it out! :)
-
Nice job! I'd be proud of that for a 1st bow. As critique... I would make the handle a bit shorter and let the wood bend more in that area. When are you going to make a self bow?// Tom
-
Thanks Tom... The handle was as short as I felt comfortable going without having it pop off since I glued it on. It's a 4 inch long handle with 1.5 inch fades..... I also wanted a fairly eliptical tiller since that's what the tbb recomended. As to when I will build more bows??? As soon as I can get my hands on some good wood. ;D
