Title: Nock overlays
Post by: Steve Milbocker on August 16, 2010, 02:14:38 pm
I just got my first self bow tillered to draw length under the tutelage of Gary Davis of Rattlestick Bows. Now I need to custom shape my grip and finish the nocks. I'm considering overlaying them with antler or a contrasting wood. Will Tight Bond 3 work for antler as well as wood?

TB3 should work but I usually use a gel type super glue or an epoxy for knock overlays.
Be sure to post pictures when you're done!

I've had too many overlay failures with super glue that I won't be using it again.  TB3 works quite well

I use a stuff called plastic weld epoxy.  Just epoxy.  Reason I use it is it drys to same color as osage when doing osage bows.  I also use TB3 with luck.
