A good friend of mine and a lot of you know Gary Davis finished this and gave it to me at the IBO world.Him and I started 2 of these a few months back out of a small Osage split down the middle
and used the inside for the back and the bark side for the belly. They both have 2 layers of sinew.
It is 50@28 66 n-n. We wanted them both to be the same weight just a little different Style in finish work. We plan on raffling them as a pair at the Classic next year.If I get mine done. ;) :)
Hope yall like this one,it is a sweet shooter. :)

Looks very good! Tiller is as good as it gets!

Beautiful, classic design. And I'm not usually a fan of the snake skin backed bows, but this goes on the 'good list'! The special tips are a nice touch.
-
Thanks I will pass that along. Also I forgot to post the flipped tips,he don't usually do that to his but wanted it to match mine. :)

Pappy you got it going on. Looking at these and some of the other bows posted this month, it is going to be a tough BOM.

That looks nice Pappy! When you and Gary collaborate, good things are bound to happen. Got it bookmarked for July Self BOM too. :)

I guess the next project will be to turn one inside out. ;D
Very nice as usual, Pappy.

Coupla hot sisters, man. Would be nice to have the difficulty of having to chose which one to take and which one to leave behind!!!
I have thought of doing an inside out bow (bark side in, heart side out) with backing, wondering what advantages/disadvantages it may have. Any observations on this bow acting any differently being inside out?
-
Very cool Pappy. Thats the first time I've seen that :o

I'll be saving my money for the raffle table at the Classic for sure! Two sweet sisters. 8)

Thanks guys,he will love to hear yall liked it. JW I really didn't notice much differences other than the grain looks a little strange when you are scraping it. The back when you flatten it is kind of like I would think a board bow would look like[Never made a board bow so I am guesing] As long as the grain don't run off the edge it should be fine. These were backed with a couple of layers of sinew but I don't believe it is necessary. The advantage is you can use a small diameter tree and split it down the middle, most small trees ,by the time you get the sap wood off there isn't enough heart wood to make a bow, alto PatB and a good friend of mine Sonny Idmam from Ohio[now passed]
have made some using the sap wood. It is just another way to use what you have.A lot of small Osage seem to be really dense and clean so you hate to pass that up. Buckeye Guy I will tell him you said Ha,I will be meeting him in Elm Hall MI. next weekend at a shoot they are having. :) :)

Pretty cool that you used the split side for the back - I like it!

Those are cool, Pappy. Gary has to be one of the nicest, caring guys I think I have met. And I'm with Pat, I'm saving some money for next year.

sealer on the skins yesterday. Should be a nice pair, but a little to light for you Eddie. ;) ;D ;D By the way Eddie your boy Dave in coming in this weekend to spend a couple of days. :) :)
