I'm going to try to get to this event and would like to pick up some rock if possible. I would especially like to get some nice green rhyolite and maybe something a little easier to knap.
-
arapaho joe had some rhyolite last year for sell.where do you live.
-
I've been trying to figure the knapping thing out on my own with little sucess. I hope to make it to the knap in and maybe get a better grasp of how things work.

I heard Joe say that he also had some (50+ pounds) obsidian to sell this year, which knaps easier than rhyolite and is good for newer knappers to get a better understanding of the process. There will be some good knappers there who will be happy to let you watch, ask questions, and give you some help.
Far as the green rhyolite, everybody wants that stuff & there don't seem to be many sellers.

Hey Guys,
Yes, I will have some nice rhyolite and obsidian for sale.
I also would like as many points made from the obsidian as possible, so I will be giving away
some slabs of it. If you can make me a nice point out of it, I will give you some more as payment.
The only thing it will cost you is a few bloody fingers. ;)
I am also going to be bringing several different types of the local quartz for folks to experiment with.
Everything from bull quartz to quartz crystal. Just want to see if we can work any of it.
And will have some small amounts of agates, jaspers, and pet wood.
Looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!
Joe

Hope you can make it.
