Title: sinew backed juniper with eyes

  Cool piece of Utah juniper. the wood had knot holes that just came right out leaving sound wood to work with. 2 layers of elk sinew with a pine pitch finish. Brain tanned deer handle with juniper bark cordage. 3 ply sinew string. 45" bow pulls 46# at 23" and shot a 21.2 gram alder foreshafted cane arrow 189 yards

I never shot one of these bows.  What do you do?  Just short draw it?  How does one keep from overdrawing.

I love the looks of these shorties.

  Bigcountry. I like to put a sinew wrap on the arrow. When you feel it rub across your knuckle, you are at full draw. The string is a Miwok style with otter fur.

that is a great bow..and juniper is a lovely wood to work with...great job...how wide did you make the limbs..thanks for sharing..john

Chuck...now that is one fine Primitive Bow...Simple and Sleek...and Sassy....can't think of anything you could have done to make it nicer...great job....

It doesn't get better than that.  That bow sums up what this is all about  (for me anyway).  Absolutely gorgeous.
