This is my first yew 55# @ 26" of pull. 72" long 1 3/4 to 1/2 tips. There was a huge knot 2/3 of the way down,I worked each side of the knot down to the heartwood which made a cool reverse handle which I wrapped in rawhide.I really like how it shoots and how it turned out. Thanks Hammertime

"Character". If there was a contest, I think you just won! That's a bow I'd enjoy taking down to the range to impress the wheelie boys with. Nice job, and thanks for posting!
-
Did you hear about the fellow who ran out of wood? His favorite song was, "THERE'LL NEVER BE ANOTHER YEW" :) :)

Nice bow ! I really like the asymetry of the whole deal....the bow is unique and shoots good too, dont get much better than that. Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys The bow can really zip arrows and hasn't taken any set yew is impressive stuff anyways all comments welcome. Thanks Hammertime
-
Very interesting bow! The bottom limb doesn't seem to be doing much work.
Yew is cool bow wood. I've only made a few yew bows but would use it again anytime.
-
Thats more character than al pacino!
I think the bottom limb is slacking too, just hanging around and not pulling its weight ;)
-
Yeah i agree the bottom limb is a bit stiff,I left it that way because it was quite shorter, don't know if that was the right thing to do but I just tried to work with the stave "as it came to me" anyway thanks for looking
-
Hm I like this bow. It s a good thing whan see the bow in this kind of wood too.
May the lower limb schould working more and than could pull it longer. I think the limbs are not ballanced now.
-
Holy beans, talk about finding a test for your tillering eye. Good on ya.
-
If it shoots well thats all that matters...its a first yew bow. I like the character.
I've got a few yew branches I wanna cut down still.
-
Definately a 'character' bow, you must be a character to even attempt that stave, I'm impressed you pulled it off!. Kinda reminds me of one of those japanese bows. Man I really like that wooden house,do wanna do a trade on it? Post some more pics of your house ;D
-
Nice job on a challenging piece of wood. :) :)
