another one ;Dthats nice
-
Shannon...if the Native Americans made Points that all looked like that....They would have Starved to Death...because they would have all been looking at them hanging on the Wigwam...and Teepee walls...instead of taking a chance to break one shooting it at and Elk or Bison...... ;D
One Awesome Point my Friend
-
holy smokes dude,thats incredible :o :o
not only is that pine tree nice, but that pine cone almost looks like the real deal too
you are getting good, aint never seen anyone make one of them before
what kinda material is it ;D ;)
(the wife is rolling as i write this)
-
Gorgeous! Really nice!
-
damn shannon....how do you get such clean flake scars with no hinges???
And that is an absolutely stunning piece of Horse Creek. Absolutely GORGEOUS!!
-
What! No bugging me about it being a "Pine tree" :o
Thank you all. I'm really proud of this one.
Billy, the best answer I can give is "convexity". That's what allows a flake to travel and stop cleanly. I spend the better part of making one of those things just building convexity in preperation for that last series of flakes. O
-
Already sold I bet? ;)
-
Shannon that is absoultly perfect ;D The colorful material sure doesn't hurt anything either. Perfect symentry an your flake scars are perfect. That is one to really be proud of. Bob
-
Tim, it ain't gone yet. :o But only because I want to look at it for a while ;D
Thank you Bob.
-
Damned Perfectionists....I'll tell Ya........ >:D
-
Shannon... I could knap for a thousand years and never come up with anything as good as one of your waste flakes... Great work on that pine tree, looks stunning my friend! :)
-
WOW!!! ::)
-
That's about as good as flake scars get. Beautiful points!!!
-
What can I say,just beautiful,nice job Shanon.
Pappy
-
That'll do. ;D
-
Holy cow! I you ever get tired of making points Shannon, you could probably get a job as a photographer ;D. That is one beautiful hunk of hc!!
-
wow... wow...

you know what i think bud. ;)
-
Yeah, Bud, you what I think too!!! Isn't about time for you to head to the Abbey, for your ten years of solitude?! Sheesh! Ok, ok, it is absolutely beautiful. :o Now start packing. The Monks don't appreciate it when you are late. Oh did I tell you they make great beer? Well, if you like wheat beer. Ok, now about this convexity, explain the removal process a little more clearly, please, ......then get your A$$ to the Abbey! ;D
Wayne

Wayne, Con------vex------ity...You know...shaped like a lens! ;D I don't much like beer adn I'm sure I won't like wheat beer.
I like talking too much to be a Monk. I like other things that Monks miss out on too >:D
-
That is a piece of art. Amazing. ;D
-
Well Shannon, not to worry, they also make fine brandy, and as for talking, well, I am sure you can get a room to yourself, and as for other activities, I am sure there is a town, not too far away, and no doubt a catholic church, and a Nunnery.......Maybe you could pick up a habit, or two...... ::)
Well, go ahead, and explain this con vex ity, I know what it means, just how do you get a flake to run uphill, and across?
Wayne
-
you can retire now, you nailed it
-
Extremely nice! ;)
-
you dont have to make yours outta horse creek or any other pretty rock ,your work sets them off enough to make them look good ,very very nice point!
-
Ok, how about we have Shannon, just show us the broken ones, and the flubbed ones? Sounds good to me. Since he won't go on a ten year sabbatical in some remote region of the world. ::)
Wayne
-
I bet his flubbed ones are way better than the ones I've been proud of lately ;D
-
yeah, you're probably right Jeff, my absolutely best, wouldn't compare to one of his flakes! :( But I bet I can cuss better than him, and with words he never heard of!! 8) I guess we will just have to coerce him to go to the far off nether regions of the earth, for a spell. ;)

You guys are nuts! Especially you Wayne! Your a big 'ol clown ::) ;D

I agree with everything that has been said, Shannon. Another stunning piece. I know that Horse Creek is not the easiest to work--at least for me--but this point is awesome. I especially love the clean notches.
