Hi guys I found some very waxey looking rock high in silica content! It looks almsot like Ky Blue in appearence but this stuff due to weathering crumbles. But it does flake. Its too bad there are tons of it where I found it along the CherryValley road in Ny . Thanks for looking.
Forgot to say that it was in bands about 6 -12'' tall and had an orangy cortex. There probably is some good stuff deep inside the wall but u would need some TNT...lol

WELL, just found out over on the "Planet" that it is dolostone...Hmmm I am one day going to very knowledgable in geology. Ok that about it for this then...lol Have a good day!

Well it looks really good and some chunks are a dark blue but was told and I tried u can use percission but forget flaking it ...anyone else seen dolostone?

Never heard of it. Wonder if some heat would help?

looks like some rock I found in a cave looked like ky blue but broke real grainy had a small amount of fluorspar in it ???
