This Bow I have been working on for quite some time. Finally got the set done with my own interpretation and a little help from The Division of Anthropology photos and This fine website.
The bow is Yew Backed with Whitetail Sinew, 43"NTN 40# @20" Very strong bugger.
I did the tips with goat rawhide and a wrapping of Sinew and Dog bane fiibers.
i'm really happy with this Bow set, no string follow (set). :)Phillip

That is one to admire for sure. All the pictures are interesting, but to see how the bow can just be so easily carried in the quiver like that - very interesting. Very practical. Something like that is definitely on my build list...don't know how well sinew backing would hold up on our humidity though...

Primitive! That's what I like on this site. Bookmarked for May Self BOM fun, too.

I haven't shot for distance yet but I would say it could go 150 at least with the right arrow. Up close 10 20 yards its on the mark.

I sealed the bow after painting with true oil, seems to be holding well, I usually try shooting the Bows I make at the beach were it is legal to see if the moisture effects the sinews.
