Here's a point I just finished. It is made from a discarded slab of Brazillian agate. It was a long, very thick, and very narrow slab that I found in a debitage pile at the North GA knap in. It was a challenge to make because the slab gave me very little room for error. I had to try to thin it down as quickly as possible because I had almost no room for error. If I made too many mistakes, it would have ended up being a drill. It's so long and skinny I thought it would look good on the end of a blowgun dart....hence the title.
Steve Allely regularly makes points like this, but he does the little Wintu style expanded notches which was pretty much impossible to do on this one because the base was too thick. So I guess this is kind of an Allely-inspired point. It's 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.
