Title: Northern white cedar

Is it any good for bows, or is it too soft and weak? Thanks,  Al

...dont waste your time...if you have it dry it and cut it up for bow drill hearth boards and spindles! ::)

Thanks, it seemed awful light and I see it's not a juniper, but I had to ask because the neighbor is cutting a bunch. Thanks again,   Al

Makes great fench posts and tongue and groove siding, would probably make arra's if its straight grained :)

Ditto.  It makes great hearth boards.  One of my favorites.

A guy from a city not far from me e-mailed me a couple months ago after I wrote an Ask PA on Northern White Cedar.  He said he used to live way up North, Moosonee area I think and that there was a Cree up there that had a longbow made of Cedar.
