I was wondering how to make flu-flus with stripped turkey feathers? I thought I could do it, but I didn't really know how and it didn't work. thanks

If you have some fletch tape, take and wrap it around the arrow shaft first at about 3/8 of and inch spiral like a barber pole. Then take your stripped feather and lay it on the tape.....make a great flu flu. Just make sure you wrap the tape for left or right wing.

The quil can be a prob.
Either break it over a sharp corner, strip it, or grind it down. Maybe steaming would work to soften it (don't really know).
I like stripping it and tape. Glue the ends after.
(talking spirel with full whole feathers using "off side")

I think that is what he was talking about is stripped feathers, not one with the quill. I have tried them all at times. You can take a full length feather, wet the quill, and wrap it around a shaft and let dry. I works great. But for putting them on the shaft, I found that applying the tap to the shaft and then the feather, works so much better than glue.
