Title: HHB Bow
Post by: Simple Hunter on April 14, 2010, 10:35:20 pm
I was looking back at some past bows and was inspired by two made by Marc St louis and Pappy. They were made out of hophornbeam.I would like to thank Marc, Pappy and all others that post bows made out of wood that is not standard.I have been stuck in a rut with hickory.

Here are some details it is 63 in long 50# at 27in. Stain is walnut that I made from walnuts taken from my dads yard. Tips were bent using dry heat on a form. Its not as good as Marc or Pappys but I hope you like. Thanks again.

Don't see how you could make it much better-looks great. Good profile, good tiller, just the right length and weight. Looks like a good hunting bow.

Thanks for all the comments it means allot. My first bows looked awful and shot even worse.Pappy I would agree. This is my first out of this wood but so far I am very impressed.  Here are some pics of some knots on the belly.I have shot over a hundred arrows out of it and they don't seem to affect anything.   Thanks
