Title: Couple of knives Eh
Post by: DanaM on April 05, 2010, 05:32:21 pm: Finished these up recently for trade goods for the Classic :) Blades are carbon steel from sawfilers used sawmill bandsaws, oil hardened and then tempered, assortment of woods
First picture we have cherry burl, cherry burl, maple burl, and I have no idear
second picture we have, mesquite, spalted gum, mescal bean, and maple burl

All have sheaths, not the greatest but sheaths non the less.

I left the blades with a light carbon residue from the hardening process, I like the look better than shiny highly polished steel, they look more traditional this way donchano eh :)

Post by: HFD60 on April 05, 2010, 11:24:54 pm: Dana, those look great...the mescal bean is my favorite....I have some of that cherry burl that was passed on to me by Knightd, I'm using it for a set of grips on my Ruger and a matching knife...I'll post them if I ever get to finish them ::)
