Can you id where the crack is? Look for little splinters on the back. You hear a crack. Sometimes the bow chrysals on the belly and you hear a tick. Do you have knots? Jawge

Experience is..... knowledge? continuing the work on the bow might reveal the cause of the cracking. Lessons learnt for the next project.
Though it could also be thought of as flogging a dead horse :-\ flip a coin, man :) let Fate decide... :D

Keep working on it. Take it slow and see what happens. If it blows it blows. It is all about learning. You are bound to break some, so you may as well start now. ;)

When I hear the crack, if I can't find it or logically deduce where it is, the stave becomes a tomato proper upper. Got any knots that could cause it? Jawge
