I spent the last few days down at Pappys. Had a great time! Didn't get to do much knapping though (stayed busy working on bows). Yesterday evening while I was waiting for some glue to dry I got a chance to sit down and work a piece of Ky blue I got from Jesse. Made this big 'ol pine tree. I like it better than any of the others so far.
Me and Jesse learned how to do a few other things over the weekend, but I'll let him show you that ;D :-X
The first picture is along with the last pine tree I made. It's Ky blue also.

Great looking points...you're definitely talented! Knapping is the hardest part of primitive archery that I've tried so far. Every other thing that I've tried, I have been able to figure out from books and reading on here, but I could definitely use some personal instruction in this dicipline!

Shannon, as always another beautiful point.
you just keep improving
im with brownhillboy on needing personal direction ;D
-
Thats just sick shannon :)
-
Tim, I reckon you and Brownhillboy'll just have to come on down to the Classic and get ya'll some "personal direction" ;D
I ain't sick Dana ::)

shannon, if my vacation time wasnt already spoken for for this year we would be there.
but unfortunatly its all spoken for.
but we have already put the classic on the schedule for next year ;D ;)

Very nice work. I may try to make it to Tenn for some instruction myself. ;D
-
ok shannon its time to move on from the pine trees. with your talent i want to see you start knocking out clovis points, scratch that, i want to see you do a folsom. ;D
-
Those points are great, I've got a long way to go to get to your level.

Ya know Jamie, I have very little interest in fluted points :-\ They just don't turn me on for some reason. I've tried a few clovis points, and actually made a couple. But the failure rate is so high with me my rock supply can't handle me trying very many.

Really nice Shannon! I still like the other one better......NOT! Well at least I like the color better ;)
You WILL show me how you make them at the classic. After you get a shower of course. ;D

ya im beginning to think that that shannon is just the reincarnated version of the first knapper to make pine tree points
and hes only gotten better since way back then
-
I got to hold them both...Shannon was finally able to pry my fingers open and get them back! :)
-
Nice work Shanon, enjoyed having you as always. :)

Shannon, you're becoming the pine tree king, those are awesome. I'm gonna trade you out of a pine tree at the classic if I have to steal a bow from Pat to trade you. ;D It's been too damn cold and snowy here to do any knapping-snow two or three nights a week every week since before Christmas and lows in the teens almost every night. Hard to knap with frozen fingers.

dude if anybody can knock out a fluted point its you. kinda like when you said you couldnt do the paper weight. ;D
