Hi,
Help me out I have the chance at getting one of these bows but not sure which one to go for;
Howard Hill Wesley Special;
Or
A Pip Bickerstaffe Longbow; Single growth ring of Hickory backing an Osage belly with a greenheart core Longbow.
I don't think I can put their websites in as they are not part of the PA family, but you can find both real easy with Google.
Thanks for your time.....

Mister Bickerstaffe's wood combination, sounds interesting to me.

Hi Eddie,
In a good way or hhmmm way?????
Thanks for your time and I hope you are doing well?
-
Hi Steve, No, in a good way. I've always liked the way his bows looked. Never had a chance to even hold one, though. And I'm doing fine down here. The weather is beautiful.

Is the Hill bow an ELB or flat bow? I've never held or shot either but I like the way Pip's bows look. That seem to be a classic combo in Pip's bow also.

Hi,
The Hill bow would be a American Flat Bow with shelf, the Bickerstaffe bow would be an English Long Bow, I spoke with Pip and he said that would be his choice of woods if he was making the bow for himself, I could have more fancy woods if I wanted but if I want a bow that will do the job for years to come it would be with them woods.
I've had one of his bows a very long time ago and it was a great bow......Hhhhhmmmm

Ive traded some emails with the guy who makes Hill bows. and he said all his bows are fiberglass backed. I would assume Pip's bow you are looking at is just the Hickory. So I would go with the Pip bow out of the two. Joel

Both!! ;D
Seriously though... I've been told that Pip's bows these days tend to end up with quite a bit of string follow, more than his older bows. The person that told me was probably referring to his single piece bows instead of his lam bows though. Either way, I'd love the chance to own one.
It basically comes down to what you prefer to shoot, I guess. Shelf or off the hand...? Whatever your choice, I'm sure you'll be happy!! Just remember to put up a load of pic's of the final decision... ;)

The reason I have not been interested in Hill bows is personnel preference. The hand grip area is usually too big for me. Kinda like a Glock. ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind words...I think I know what I am going to go for.....Maybe.... ::)
