Was working on my Grandson's Pecan bow; it was gnarly with dips, twists, and knots. Tillered it to twenty inches (eyes played tricks on me on this one), and was exercising it when, at a knot, CRACK. Have a Winged Elm Stave picked out for his next one. Got so disappointed that I made this quiver.

Made two more today. The one standing up is the one from Sunday. It was easier today as I had cut all the pieces out yesterday, punched all the holes in the leather. Today was just a stitch and cement day. So now where there was one, now there are three. Anyway the components are Red Oak, leather, artificial sinew, Pine plug for the bottom cup, and Barge Cement. Not sure about a shoulder sling. I would like to make an adjustable one, but am not sure how to go about it. Maybe cheap rifle slings from a box store.

...those look great Lombard! ...also for the slings... check your local thrift stores, flea malls etc for used leather belts, they make great straps for quivers AND you can cut the belt in half, the piece with the holes longer than the half with the buckle. Sew the buckle end to the bottom and then sew the piece with the holes to the top and Voila! adjustable strap! -josh
