I am not much of a bowyer so no making fun  LOL ..  this one actually shoots really good.. 54 inch IPE backed with elk hide and hand painted.. pulls 25# at 20 inches.. fast little bow and takes no set.. I am proud of it for the youngster. he is seven and wants a longbow to hunt bears !

There's nothing to make fun of there 8)  I know my 7yo loves the one I made for him, and it's not nearly as nice as that one.  Awsome job :)

Great looking bow, arrows and every thing else.  Nothing to make fun of there.  Besides I may be a little crazy at times but I ain't stupid enough to make fun of a man that LETS a mountain lion hunt him!  ;D  Your young'un is very lucky.

Thanks brothers of the bow... I have to admit I had fun building this one.. Gordon ..it is not elk rawhide.. thick neck leather off or a bull, soaked in gorilla glue and pressed until dried.. seemed to work.. never cracked, soaked hide in gorilla glue,  laid a piece of duct tape folded over so not sticky and pressed between boards with clamps... let dry and then sanded it lightly and trimmed the edges... I painted it with homemade earth paints. i shot the bow about 100 times and put it through the tests.. if it breaks it will make some pretty firewood ;D I have a piece of western red cedar I am going to try and make a short stout horsebow with the same backing next..
