Title: Dacite
Post by: HoBow on January 25, 2010, 12:40:27 am
I just watched these videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pKmJZt9YdQ&feature=related

I've been playing with much bigger boulders, probably 20 times bigger, of talahatta quartzite and it doesn't seam to want to spall like the video....is that the nature of the rock differences or is it because I have not idea what I'm doing relative to the guy in the video  ???  ;D He makes it look much easier than what I'm experiencing!!

Well Jeff, what he's spalling is like first cousin to obsidian and what you're spalling is like a first cousin to concrete.  So yes, the rock does make a difference.  That's Jim Winn too. He's goood ;)
