im laying out an elb, and i am wondering if i make the center of the bow(lengthwise) the top of the handle, and therefore have 1 limb(the top one) be longer than the bottom limb. Or is it the center of the bow is the center of the handle and have both limbs the same length?thanks

For an ELB the top of the handle is 1" above the centre, so for laying out the handle section mark the centre, then 3" below for the bottom limb/bottom of the grip and 1" above centre for the top limb/top of the grip. This way the bottom limb is still a little shorter, so it's best to leave it a little stiffer.

Youngbow, I leave 1 1/4 inch above the center line for the upper limb and 2 3/4 below center for the lower limb. As stated above, leave the bottom limb a little stronger.
