Title: Pretty rock
Post by: FlintWalker on December 31, 2009, 11:14:37 pm
I got some pretty, new rock the other day and made this Dovetail and the "Milk Cow" pine tree from it.  I think they're both heat treated Flint Ridge. That pine tree was kinda tough. The flakes seemed to be pretty unpredictable. ???  The other little one was from a small flake of Georgetown.   I love that stuff ;D

Lessons ::)..........I should be getting lessons from you!
I start my notches with pressure, but finish them by punching with a horseshoe nail.
I want to send you a picture of that big rock. Where do I send it?

I have been looking at that third point and the center flakes start out at almost an 1/8 of an inch on the edge. I would really like to see what one of your points looks like right before you start running that last row of flakes off. So you think you could take a picture of the edge of your next point before you start those runs and post that. I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of your flaker too if you could. Thanks mucho.

Craig, I don't have the nuts to hit that big rock.  I got that one for Leapingbare...He'll hit it though!
Dana, I'll show you everything I know at teh classic.  Shouldn't take more than an hour.
Steven, the next one I do, I'll take some pictures just for you. ;)
