Hi folks!
Here’s a little photobuildalong from my latest bow.
It’s made of Osage Orange I imported from Nebraska.
I call it Pech, which means pitch. There’s a saying in Austria, “Sie halten zusammen wie Pech und Schwefel” -> “THEY HOLD TOGETHER LIKE PITCH AND BRIMSTONE”.
It means that it is very difficult to separate for instance two people or in the case of the bow, to saw the stave in two.

Drawweight: 41#@27”, can be drawn to 29” with no problems
Arrowspeed normals release (10gpp) 160fps, max 164fps
Arrowspeed quick release (10gpp) 172fps, mx 176fps
Width at the handle: 1,5 inches
Maximum width limbs: 1,4 inches
Width upper nock: 3/32 inches
Width lower nock: 5/32inches (a little wider, because the lower limb has a little twist)
Flat back
Rounded belly
Bends slightly in the handle
Deerrawhidebacking
Linentipping
Buffalohorn tips, the lower with lateral deerantler reinforcement
Handle reinforced with rawhide and flaxfibres
Handle built up with 3 layers of leather wrapped in leatherband

Awesome Bow....Great Tiller...but man them Nocks scare the Hell out of Me!! Are You not Afraid of the String slipping off at Full Draw....... ??? If They work....they sure look awesome.......can't go wrong with Osage and Buffalo..... ;D

That is fantastic! Not only is tiller great and the fit/finish flawless, I also love how unique the bow is. The fabric on the outer limbs, the antler sideplates on the tips, the contoured grip and flax wrapping...all great! ;D Thanks for posting. I'm saving a few of these photos for inspiration and ideas.

Great design and attention to detail on the whole bow build. I really like the way this one looks, very customized looking with the handle wrap and the rest of the bow. I really like that knife and rasp handle too.

That bow is FANTASTIC!! The tiller is beautiful. That is great bow with great finish work. It is nice to see something different, great job you should be very proud of your work.

I made a Slingshot that Shoots Arrows...that Chronied at 160....so why can't a 40# Bow do it too...... ???
