I'm going to make some steel trade points, what dimensions would be appropriate for taking white tail? Thanks,

That's what the plan was, but I thought I'd ask to see if there was better option. Thanks.

Bjorn, I just made a 1 1/8"line and connected the corners to the tip. Pretty much a 2 to 1 ratio and legal. I cut notches in later with a chain saw file.

Swamp,if your using band saw blades,you can make a 150 gr. point like this; 3 1/2" total lenght,1 1/4" wide, the triangular blade being 2 1/2" long ,with a 1 " tang
with a circular saw blade, try 3" total, 2" blade,1"tang. I usually cut mine out a little larger,so if they're to heavy, just grind a little off to desired weight. God Bless

Hey Eddie, not sure I understand. BTW, what is min. width here in FL, tried to look it up a while back but couldn't find it. Probably read right past it twice. :-\
PeteC, Thanks, those sound about right.

Minamun width is 7/8"in Florida, stone, bone, wood or steel.

Man, I wish we had that flexibility, in MD it's 1" min., steel only.

Thanks Eddie.
Yeah, Florida is pretty relaxed, especially when it come to gun hunting regs (IMO). I see that changing with the population explosion, I could see them making sizable chunks of the state shotgun only.
