Title: Racing Stripes...
Post by: stiknstring on October 24, 2009, 07:06:35 pm
About to glue up a BBI for a friend...nothing fancy just a straight bow with MAYBE a slight amound of reflex.  We ground some lams for another project and made some 1/32 inch thick padauk lams that I would like to put between the boo and the ipe.  IS this a good idea or with the opposing tension of the boo and compression forces of the ipe cause a delam problem with the racing stripe?

Thanks for the input.  Gonna lay a stripe in the handle area too.  Hopefully this bow makes a good appearance at next years North American Longbow Safari we are hosting in Libby, Montana.

Won't bother it a bit. Might even make it livelier!
