Title: HBH longbow
Post by: Grunt on September 16, 2009, 08:31:25 pm
Here's a couple of shots of a Hickory Backed Hickory. 68" ntn 47# at 28"  I removed some wood on the inner limbs after taking these shots. I wasn't getting enough wood moving in the center.

Shoots sweet, very little handshock, I served the string and started finishing yesterday. Got to get another coat of spar varnish on her today and if it stops raining shoot her some more. Maybe a handle wrap in a few days. Follows the string just little as I glued her up Perry style.

Nice bow, Grunt.   Your handle area does look stiff to me.
