awesome dagger and point is that horse creek? looks like Jesse is in trouble he must have forgot to take his lady out to eat .lol
-
Jesse, that dagger is awesome, and the point is beautiful! Great work! Have I ever mentioned that it isn't fair for one person to have so much talent...what did you say the score was you shot on the course over the weekend? ;)
-
thanks for the post pappy.
Guys i spent about 4-5 hrs on this one. seemed like every flack was preped and set up just right and i felt like i was one wrong move from snapping it the whole time.
I'm really glad it terned out. its not stitched but i don't think all the real ones were stitched. regardless i am proud of it. Now i just need to find another big piece of rock and try another one. Oh yea thanks Wolf Watcher thats the big piece of Texas flint you gave me at the classic.
-
That's some kinda cool Jesse! 8) I bet hitting a piece that big does raise he pucker factor a little.
That horse creek is stunning. Is it that color before heating?
-
WOW jesse.
that turned out really awesome.
lookiing forward to knapping again with u at next classic.

Jesse, that's awesome! Looks like you've got that punch flaking down, and I don't even see any flakes stuck in your forehead. ;D Sweet dagger, and that Horse Creek point is sure some eye candy, too.
-
Yer da man Jesse :)
-
Sure am impressed with your skill!! :o :o :o I always think there is a point or blade hidding in every good rock and you certainly found one in that big ole boulder. Hope to find another good sized one for you at next year's classic! Beyond the blade the color in the point and the workman's ship on it is beyond what most of us hope to achieve! Thanks guys. ;)

That point is just beautifull!!!

Awesome dagger (and point). Just curious... how long did it take you to knock that dagger out?
-
about 15mins to get the bi-face out of the bolder.
8hrs heat treating the bi-face.
3-4 hrs terning the large bi-face into the dagger.
I usually knap faster but i really tuck my time to set up each platform. i wanted to be able to remove large flaks with minimal force.

Jesse, great looking dagger, I remember James doing some coaching this spring at the classic, seems to me you were paying attention, Again great dagger an the point ain't shabby at all. Hope to see ya in the spring. Later Bob

cool Jesse. The point looks like some kind of tropical fish. ;D The dagger is very impressive but I want to see stitching on the next one. ;)

Damn Jesse, those are nice. When you get one out of that pretty Horse Creek you definately know you have a "keeper". Sweet Danish dagger and you are right, all of them weren't stiched. I saw some pictures of real ones that Claude took in museums in Denmark.
-
Really cool point and dagger, I remember that session at the classic with James, you guys are really talented. It was a pleasure to watch you knapp Jesse.
Good job
