Just wanted to see what you guys think...She looks sick (mange, chronic wasting disease) or maybe its caused by stress from loosing a fawn??? I don't know what to say...all I know is she looks awful! What do you guys think? :-\ :-\ :-\

-

Just for comparison this is a picture of her from 9 days prior...she has twin fawns....you can see how much worse she has gotten in 9 days

You should send the pics to your state DNR.
-
There is absolutly nothing wrong with her. She's shedding her summer coat. ;)
Give here a few more days and she'll look slick as a ribbon.
I've been running several cameras for 10 years or so and have seen hundreds of deer do that. It's nothing to be alarmed about at all...I promise. ;D
-
That is what I was thinking. Just that time of year. The picture is deceiving. Look at her belly, she is way to fat to be sick.
-
Just to ease your mind a bit...Here's a couple pic fer comparison.
Same buck. One while he's loosing his summer coat, another after it's gone.

she looks as good as any of the Deer around here right now....shedding their Spring/Summer Coat....getting ready for Winter....I am certain that if the Fawns are fine....Momma is too....just Shedding....plus She looks like She is a Mature Doe...not a two year old
-
I was going to say the same thing. they don't have winter coats here, but looks like a nice, healthy, 2 or 3 year old doe down here.
-
yeah same she looks fine just shedding of the winter hair
-
i reckon they dont do that here. :-\
-
Same here- they have a red summer coat and it sheds off and their gray winter coat comes in. I've killed a couple early in the season that looked pretty rough, but like Shannon said, they'll slick right up in a few weeks. I killed a doe first week of October last year that you could literally pull handfuls of long red hair out of. Where I drug her out of the woods she left a trail of hair on the ground.
-
Looks gaunt and underweight in the earlier pic, but ok in the recent ones so it is hard to tell without better close ups, I think you need a good close up of her nose and mouth also
-
just weened out,,,,the twins are sucking her dry......
-
Tep....twins and a Hard Dry Year will do it to them also...here is a Doe and Her two little ones....She don't look much better either....but She is eating and drinking good....no signs of Ticks or other Injuries....just Shedding !
