I was wondering if there was someone I should be talking too or a state org. that can help a guy who wants to learn ? Any help at this point would be cool ! Im gonna go through my PA back issues and see about the orgs that Ive seen there..just wondered if anyone here did it ?

Have you tried a net search for horse archery. There is a good world wide network of horse archers. In some resent PA Magazines there were a few different articles about horse archery. Search here too.

I do quite a bit of shooting from horseback... just get a good horse, and give it a go... loads of fun, and really sharpens your instinct shooting... good luck .....Hawk

After reading this thread I got to wondering, what you think the best type of bow would be to shoot on horseback:) Some of the asian horsebows are certainly dazzling and historical, but not neccessarily the best bow to hunt/shoot from horseback, I'm wondering if any riders here have put their bows to the test:)

Chad, if you have a good horse I would just jump in and get started. It is not as hard as you would think, and a lot of fun. The better trained the horse the better.

I'd go with a good Cow horse and a lighter weight bow. And from experiance, don't try a compound. I walked a long way to the trailer the first time. ::)

LMAO ... Thanks Eddie. I have a short recurve . That was just a funny post ..What spooked the horse ? Was it the compound ? Looking for a horse breeder that shoots or has shot that I can get with and talk too. Thats for all the input guys !

i ride alot, and shoot even more. never combined the two. prolly cuz falling off without takeing my bow down with me is bad enough. ::)
