Title: side nocks

What's up with these?  Just one groove on each side?  I'm confused...

I have used side nocks on Cherokee style bendy handle bows. If the stave has any twist I will situate the side nock to pull the twist out as the bow is drawn. Side nocks are traditional in many archery cultures. Some of the Mary Rose bows found on a sunken ship in Britain had side nocks and were common there at that time.

I put them on my Sinew back maple, They are Magic, something to do with the String Angle,Paradox and side shooting I guess.

Now I'm intrigue with side nocks.  APAPKA, I see your side nocks on of different side of the limbs.  Is this a right handed bow?  Which is the top? 

PatB, I'm assuming that whatever side the limb twist away from the shooter is the side the nock should be on to put the limb back around??  Did Cherokees use side nocks?  I've only seen the diamond nocks on Cherokee style bows.

More pictures from all angles, braced and full draw would be great.  Thanks bunches.

 Radius this bow is a right and lefty, I'm right handed but
I try left handed and feel like I'm throwing a baseball backwards. :) just something about side noks that makes the Arrow shoot more accurate seems to me to be.

I use them to shift the string alignment to one side when I cut them in both on the same side.  If they are cut on opposite sides, the alignment wont be affected.  The string tracks to the opposite side you cut into.

Honestly, go make some yourself.  They're too easy to ignore.

i'm just spooked...i got some holmies on the go here, and i might use the side nocks...the boards are straight with no twist, so i guess i can cut them in opposite sides, no problems?
