Title: Yew wood
Post by: rileyconcrete on August 25, 2009, 03:19:08 pm
Tell me what you guys think.  I found a guy wanting to sell some yew staves that someone had given to him some time ago.  There are 4 of them and they are 8-9ft long.  what is something like that worth? This guy wants cash not trade but it may be be good wood. I have no idea what yew sells for but if you guys could give me a hint I may be able to get these staves. There are other guys interested so I want to have a fair chance at getting them. If I get them I may place a couple on the trading post for you guys also. Thanks alot. Oh and I dont have pictures yet but I will post them when they are emailed to me.

Hard to say without pics. A low density yew stave can be very inexpensive... $40-$50. A high density, warbow quality stave >80" with no knots could fetch several hundred dollars. Post some pics when you can.
