Have been sorry not knowing how to post pictures cause its kept me from joining in on this fun!  Tang knifes are regional to the Rockies and are fun to make as there is a very wide variety of shapes and are coveted by collectors!

I was wondering when somebody was going to kick-start the next challenge. I'll have to wait until my copy of Overstreet gets in to see what a Tang blade is. ???

Wish this was a week earlier I just finished putting a handle on a tanged knappped knife. Now you can not see the tang it is inside a piece of osage.
That's my luck.

Here's one I made yesterday. Blew the notches out, I'm mostly a percussion knapper.  Trying to learn pressure and notching now.

Got a chance to sit and knapp a couple out ,the smaller one was done first.I had one of those square cowboy rocks and was able to knock a few blade spalls off it,which made for a bigger knife blade.Hope to try these out soon .Looking at some books at the different tang styles there's a base tang, does anyone know if that was held by a cord also ? Thanx

Well, here is my attempt at a tang knife. It would of been longer but I broke it  >:( So not only did I get a small knife ,I was able to get a point out of the broken tip.  :)
They are made from glass. The knife is about 2 3/4" - 3" long. Joe
