So, doing some reorganizing, I stumbled upon a bunch of stills of my very first bows.
...Those where the days I had no clue that internet archery sites even existed.
My very first one was a Guava, I pretty much copied my glass longbow, decrowned the back and made a farely flat belly.
I drew it to full draw as soon as it was shaped :o ...than pushed the limbs back to strait ::) ;D did a bit of what might be called tillering but I had no instructions at all.
well it actually sent arows to my targed,..I was quite amazed by that ;D i did feel a great sense of pride in the accomplishment, and I think I was hooked ;)
The tiller was amazingly quite even, but most of the bend was at midlimbs

At the time I was reading Pope's book, so I started my second with a bit more of a clue ;D
Here the first is shown with the second in the works, ...and those where the tools I was using in the beginning

I don't think my 10th(when I get to it) will look that good.
-
thanks fellas.
......by the time I got to my 3rd bow I did quite a bit of reading of TBB I, so I had a much better idea of what had to be done.
There was a mention on TBB I that folks new to the craft should stay away from caracter bows,..so of course I had to make a Guava with some caracter ;D

Nomadic, you're work is always impressive. Good job brother.
-
Good job, Manny. I kept my early bows, LOL, the ones that survived anyway. The ones that didn't are in the garden. Your bows look better than mine. :) Jawge
-
And then finally manny got a haircut and a shirt. ;D I really respect your bows, and the fact you went out and tried bow woods that no one else has tried.
-
yeah, had to start wearing a shirt once I started posting bows on the internet ;D

All of your bows are awesome...always have been ! Keep up the great work and hunt naked when and when ya can !

Funny you say that Chad, there was a time when i was lucky enought to be able to live in the bush (I probably would still be there if I didn't get kicked out)
....anyway, I used to work on bows naked, and as a matter of fact i did go hunting nacked a few times ;D ;D ;D
