Title: stitchless quiver
Post by: Dustybaer on January 08, 2007, 02:03:26 pm
do you remember the stitchless sheath i made a while back?  well i wanted to test the process on a quiver, so here it is:

in fact, i even thought about attaching the sheath to the quiver, but i'm not sure.  what do you guys think?

Very cool Marius. How do you keep the arrows from slipping through the bottom?   I like it with the knife sheath attached.    Pat

thanks pat.  i left the back part of the quiver itself a little longer and folded it in, so it builds a pocket.

Very Nice, looks like you could probly even tuck the end of the sheath into the end of the quiver so the knife don't flop around too much. Nice work, thanks for sharing it with us.

I am new to this forum you post already makes me glad I signed up!

What a great idea!  Nice work to say the least.

I have been wanting to make a Plains Indian style quiver.  This gets me to thinking that there might be just some way to incorporate your idea with that design.

thanks fred.  make sure you post pictures of the outcome.

by the way (since you mentioned it) here's a plains style quiver i made a while back (actually my first quiver ever).  the flap protects the fletching pretty good when it rains.

GREG, it's good to see read you again, my friend  ;D

nope. looks like my trip (if at all) is gonna be too late for the classic.

i just read that your BOM broke.  sorry about that. it was a very nice bow.  i've got a really nice osage bow, named "two deer" that i could mail to you right away.  just say it.

No need for that Marius...hopefully some day you can come and hunt with us and rename the bow three, or even four deer!  :)

yep frank.  thanks.  kommst du nach neubrunn dieses jahr?

for everybody: neubrunn is the ultimate archery event in germany (at least for me it is)  i usually spend a week there with all them crazy german beedrinkers and woodbenders (sounds like a tune by ZZ Top).  exchange ideas, drink beer, do workshops, drink some more beer, lots of BBQs.... and beer.  oh yeah and an archery tournament ( but that one we do stone sober, since alcohol and shooting bows don't mix).  we also plan an atlatl tournament and a mini-bow tournament (mini-bows in the traditional class must fit in a 20" by 5" box, in the unlimited class it's a 20" by 10" box).

Marius, Good to see you back. Those are some great looking quivers. I was hoping to meet you at Pappy's this year, I heard from Pat and Hillbilly what a true Southern Gentleman you were. You have me inspired to dig out the leather.

Welcome back Marius. Good to have you back.
Cool quiver. I was quite impressed with the quiver you made for the Southern Community Bow set . You Germans are something else. ;D  If you can make it over during hunting season, we can hit my club in Georgia also. We drink lots of beer there. ;D I'll have PBR just for you.
Send me an e-mail so I can have your address...unless it is the same.     Pat

@formerbutcher, i think it's guinea fowl and pheasant.

@mullet, thanks for your kind words, but i only made it to "trailer-trash" level (thanks ron  ;D ). couldn't take the test to become a red-neck, 'cause pat forgot the PBR  >:D

@pat, i'm telling you, it's like coming home.  y'all's friendliness and hospitality just made me realize how much i missed this site.  when's hunting season?

Mid September until January 1. Usually archery season is mid Sept to Mid Oct. but you can hunt with a bow during any season. License is less than $200.
Looking forward to the build along also 8).    Pat

It would be great if you could make a trip to hunt,I'll put you up at the cabin and
have 400+ acres to rome. The timing that I think is best is mid to late Oct but it's
pretty good anytime. All you need to do is let me know and it's own. :) Like Pat
said the lic. in Tn. is about 200.00 and I don't think it matters if you are out of State
or in your case out of Country. :)

y'all's generosity is killing me.  i don't know what to say.

PS:  well my wife answered it for me.  she just called to tell me we got a letter from the german irs and we owe 2000 euros for last year (that's about 3 grand in dollars).  which means the furthest i can travel this year is to the bathroom.  i can't even start telling you how upset i am (especially considering that we missed the threshhold by 28 euros)

Ill trade you Marius. I paid $27 thousand last year.  :'(

Holy crap Justin, you paid $27,000 in income taxes you sure must make more then me, Total
between the wife and I we paid about $8000, and I have no kids to claim anymore >:( Just think when the
liberals get in, their going to take it all >:D

thanks dingelberry, good to hear from you.

justin i paid a similar amount, but my daughter made 28 euros more than the threshhold allowed, last year, so i can't claim her and the net result is i owe them another 2000 euros (which, of course, i don't have).  what kills me, is the ridiculous amount that triggered it all.
