I'll mail it all back to you. It was in my box of rocks at the Classic for you. I thought I sent you the few slabs I cut before it smoked my blade? ???

Timo, I was surprised that almost no one wore eye protection also. I'm still learning the basics and have had my glasses on top of my head ??? and got a piece of glass in my eye. It's a personal choice.I noticed a couple of folks that took some stray pieces to the eye. It truly was an experience to see all of the experienced knappers doing there thing. I still can't get over Steve and James manipulating that yooperite and that red rock that Mullet brought. Jesse was a real joy to watch knapping and I learned a lot from watching and listening to his strategy for each piece. Jackcrafty was putting out some really cool bird points for his phragmites arrows also. There was another Patrick there that I learned a lot from that was probably in his late teens. I can only hope to improve from watching everyone.

That was a lot of fun. I can't knap with glasses on, just don't work for me. After you build up some callouses on your eyeballs, it don't hurt as much. :) Tracy, that was Patrick Brennan, Tom B's son. He's an excellent knapper.

The only time I wear safety glasses is when I knapp glass or when I'm spalling.  I'm like Hillbilly, they tend to screw up my vision somehow.....my depth perception.

Well, my kids saw the picture of Dad with a toilet seat around his neck and said, "Are those guys your friends?".  ???  Seems they were more surprised by the fact that I had friends than with the toilet seat trophy.... ::)   I don't understand why?  It's not like I'm always out back working on "Indian stuff" every night. ;D

Safety glasses do make it harder for me to see clearly when I'm knapping. Probably why my fingers are always taking the hit and not the rock ;D. I guess I need to get away from glass and start using some of that man rock :o
